Pagoda Box with Jason Breach

The making of a Pagoda box.

This starts as a square section, the aim is to keep the corners, and my finger tips.  I explain the timber selection, grain orientation, how to safely mount this on the lathe,  creating the chuck holding tenons , lid and base separation, creating the overall shape, which is all done with basic turning tools, The important lid fit, sanding and polishing and the last major stage of reverse chucking to remove any holding marks|, the end result is a box that stands on 4 corner feet. Through out the demo I explain body position, methods of holding the chisel, and why each tool is used. Safety aspects of this type of item are covered.

This Demo will be posted for only 30 days!
